The international conference "Experience and Challenge in shaping students' professional competences through school practice" is held

On December 20-21, 2017, at the premises of "Alexander Xhuvani" University, Elbasan was held the international conference "Experience and Challenge in shaping professional competencies of students through school practice". This conference was organized by the Faculty of Education Sciences, "Alexander Xhuvani" University, Elbasan, in cooperation with the University of Bologna, "Neofit Rilski" University, Bulgaria, University of Korça, University of Durres, University of Shkodra, University of Mitrovica, IZHA and Regional Education Directorate, Elbasan.

Dean of the Faculty of Education Sciences, Prof.Asc.Dr.Valentina Haxhiymeri, wished the attendees at this conference, stressing that this conference comes as a promotion, distribution and conclusion of the research project “Reform in pre -university education and professional practices as an important component in the formation of initial teachers in HEIs. Reality and challenges through scientific research, analysis and findings ”, designed and implemented by the Center for Research and Development in Education, in cooperation with the Department of Teaching Methodology, the Faculty of Education Sciences.

Deputy Minister of MASR, Ms. Besa Shahini, in his greeting speech, praised this venture and once again highlighted the importance of research in the field of education and the preparation of initial teachers, as a prerequisite to give the right challenges. She underlined and demanded from the HEIs that the results of the findings, conclusions in which the project will arrive and conferences to turn into partnership initiatives with all stakeholders, including MASR, with the aim of putting the solution.

Present at this conference, the Deputy Rector of the University of Elbasan Prof. Dr. Peci Naqellari identified the project as a timely effort to solve current challenges in preparing initial teachers and as a model of cooperation between FSHN, FSHN , FSH to EU and beyond. It addressed the need for bylaws to put the institutional relationship between HEIs and APU from the point of view of professional practice on the way of resolution. At the plenary session they presented their ideas about the models and challenges of the professional practices of preparing initial teachers representatives of the University of Bologna and the University of Tirana. The director of the Center for Research and Development in Education, near the village, at "Alexander Xhuvani" University, presented the project, its progress, findings and products.

An important part of the closing activities was the Workshop organized by the VI and RED, where the experiences of mentoring students during professional practices in schools were presented, focusing on the implementation of the curriculum in pre-university education. Presentations in this workshop were also from the University of Vlora and Durres. About 101 researchers, lecturers and pre -university employees contributed to 60 references during the 10 sessions of this conference.
