Bilateral Agreement with Sofia Technical University is signed

On 10.12.2015 the Academic Senate of the University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani" approved the bilateral agreement of cooperation with the Technical University of Sofia. The bilateral agreement between universities has the main purpose of promoting cooperation in the academic and scientific research for a 5 year period. This agreement will pave the way for links between the faculties and the respective departments in the framework of the development of bilateral projects in the respective areas of interest. Among the main points of the agreement are included:

• Organizing Joint Lecture Cycles on Related Subjects as well as Symposiums
• Incentive for the development of joint research projects in different areas of interest
• Organizing and developing international scientific conferences
• Cooperation for the development of joint courses with integrated programs which also promote the exchange of students in tracking courses or preparing diploma affairs.
• Participation in publications in journals or brochures in order to promote scientific research and qualify staff.
• Encouraging the exchange of academic staff with the purpose of qualifying and exchange of experience

This agreement is also in harmony with the university's goal of expanding the partnership with universities with which areas of interest are compliant. The agreement has been promoted by the Department of Informatics at the FFN given the experience of the Sofia Technical University in this field. The Department of Informatics aims at rigorous cooperation with Sofia's UT in two main directions that are: academic exchange and scientific research projects. Sofia's UT offers English and German computing programs being a great opportunity to exchange academic staff and students. The Department of Informatics already has an experience in the field by successfully organizing an international conference with Sofia's UT as being included in the academic exchange.
