The Faculty of Natural Sciences (FFN) as the main unit of the "Alexander Xhuvani" University of Elbasan was formed in 1992. Branches (today study programs) Mathematics and biology and biology were opened in 1969-1970, with systems of Various study (with and without interruption; 3-year study system and later after the 1980s the 4-year system opened).

In 1982 the 4 -year branch was opened day. In 1992, the Faculty of Natural Sciences Mathematics-Physics and Biology-Kimi were joined.

The Accreditation Council, based on the report of external self -assessment and evaluation, in 2006, in its recommendation provides the institutional accreditation of the Faculty of Natural Sciences.

In 2009 the Bachelor study program was opened in "Information Technologies".

In 2011 the bachelor's study program was opened in "Computer Physics".

In 2011 the two -year study program was opened in "Laborant Technologist".

In 2013 the Bachelor study program was opened in "Mathematics-Informatics".

In 2009 the Master of Science study program was opened in "Applied Mathematics".

In 2009 the Master of Science study program in "Environmental Protection" was opened

In 2012 the Master Professional study program was opened in "Information Technologies"

In 2012 the Master Professional study program was approved in “Production Analyst”

In 2002 the study in the part -time system began.

The departments of mathematics and physics have been operating for 43 years and have prepared generations of mathematics and physics teachers for most of Albania's counties. Only in Elbasan district students emerging from the Elbasan-Physics Mathematics Branch cover almost 95% of the teaching of mathematics and physics and many school leaders. This reputation is transformed into a great obligation to keep the good name and positions gained in the now open educational market.

The Biology-Kimi branch has prepared high-level biology and chemistry teachers for decades. This is also possible by the activation of highly prepared lecturers with degrees and scientific titles, both internal and external. Very good cooperation with the Faculty of Natural Sciences of UT has made a very important contribution to the consolidation of the Biology-Kimi branch.

The mission of the Faculty of Natural Sciences today is to develop it in order to be at the right height with the needs and requirements of the labor market.

As a faculty we aim to achieve real and valuable results in different areas of human activity, which respond to the various programs in which it can be studied in this faculty. In recent years there has been a great deal of work in the opening of professional master's degree and Master of Science. As an objective, this faculty has the opening of the Doctoral School in Environmental Protection, which would meet all three levels of university study.

Our objective is to form capable individuals in teaching mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry and computing. Our faculty aims to form specialists equipped with the right knowledge and the latest achievements in the field of labor market sciences and further studies in institutions that they will judge more reasonable, at home and abroad.
