The University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani", signed today the Memorandum of Understanding and the Agreement of Primary Legal Aid with the Ministry of Justice. Through these agreements, the EU fulfills an essential objective in terms of professional growth of students and academic staff, enabling practical training through the clinic of the Faculty of Business and Law that guarantees all citizens equal access to justice.

Following the signing of the Memorandum, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Ulsi Manja, at the official ceremony of naming the Faculty of Business and Justice, held a fruitful meeting with students and academic staff of this faculty.

The Office of Foreign Relations at the University of Elbasan continued today "Information Days" for student mobility with the Erasmus+program, for the academic year 2024-2025.

Following the success of the first day, today the students of the Faculty of Economics were informed about the many opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program and the European Union -funded projects for capacity building.

Students displayed a special commitment during the informative session, becoming part of this process that opens the doors to a new academic and cultural experience.

At the University of Elbasan “Alexander Xhuvani” was inaugurated the clinic of the Law, a two-year cooperation project with the OSCE presence in Albania, which will provide free legal aid to citizens in need. Students and law professors will be included in this service, combining theory with practice, while the equipment and literature donated by the OSCE will support their capacities.

Rector Prof. dr. Elvira Fetahu emphasized the importance of the clinic of the law as a step towards practical education and civic engagement, while Ambassador Michel Tarran underlined the role of the Law on Justice Law and commitment to social issues. This partnership of the University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani" with the OSCE strengthens transparency and institutional accountability in view of the principle of the rule of law and in accordance with the values ​​and priorities of the OSCE.

In information sessions conducted with the academic staff of the University, Prof. Fetahu, presented the Laia project, which also participates in the University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani", marking an important step towards cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.

This project, funded by the Erasmus+ KA2 CBH of the European Union 🇪🇺, has united universities from Albania, Kosovo, Greece and Denmark with the aim of creating a master's degree in artificial intelligence in the region enabling experts' formation artificial intelligence.

The University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani" is hopeful in the positive impact this project will have on strengthening educational capacities, to be contemporary with international market demands, as well as technology development.

At the Faculty of Economics of "Alexander Xhuvani" University, an open lecture on "Cyber ​​Security in the Digital Age" was held, in the framework of activities with the Business Advisory Board at this university. Dean of the Faculty, Prof.As.Dr. Shpetim Cerri, in his greeting speech, emphasized the importance of active student participation in this current and comprehensive discussion.

The topic was presented by two cyber security experts, at the same time members of the Association of Banks of Albania, Mr. Reglend Xhango, Security Manager at OTP Bank and chairman of the AAB Cyber ​​Security Committee, and Ms. Entela Prifti, security manager at Raiffeisen Bank and a member of the AAB Cyber ​​Security Committee.

After the presentation, students had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss cyberat safety, showing interest and curiosity about the field.

The Ambassador of the Lower Order in Tirana Sh.T Reinout Vos paid a visit to the University of Elbasan “Alexander Xhuvani”, where it was initially welcomed by the Deputy Rector of Prof.Dr. Elvira Fetahu, who presented it with the history, contribution and activity of the university in the country, the region and beyond, also discussed the opportunities of institutional cooperation in the field of education.

Mr. Vos then held an open discussion with students, lecturers and representatives of civil society organizations, where they were able to discuss the process, importance and expectations of Albania's European Union integration, without bypassing the added values ​​that Albania will bring to the EU itself.
