The International Conference "Literature and Arbëresh Culture" takes place

The Department of Literature-Journalism, at the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Elbasan, has organized the international conference on "Literature and Arbëresh Culture". Part of this conference has been many guests, scholars from all Albanian territories and not only, and in particular two prominent Arbëresh scholars Matteo Mandala and Francesco Altimari. The conference opens up to all scientific activities conducted in Albania within the year of Deradian, in honor of the 200th anniversary of the prominent Albanian-Arbëresh Renaissance Jeronim De Rada and the purpose of the conference was Deputy Minister of Culture Zef Çuni . Wishing all those present, the Rector of the University of Elbasan Prof. Dr. Liman Varoshi emphasized the importance of the conference which in the center has studies about the figure of Jeronim De Rada.

"Jeronim De Rada is an emblem of our national Renaissance, an emblem of an era, is the figure where all the centers of the development of free Albanian thought co -operate," said Prof. Dr. Liman Varoshi during his speech. He emphasized that all the other Renaissance of the era and current scholars in the west or east have joined around this prominent figure.

Even Deputy Minister of Culture Zef Cuni has highly praised the figure of Jeronim De Rada, while the Mayor of Elbasan Qazim Sejdini present at the opening ceremony of the University's academic staff for the organization of such conferences.

Meanwhile, all attendees with great interest have been followed by the scientific papers of the two Arbëresh professors, Matteo Mandala and Francesco Altimari, who with their presentations have brought further young people, about Jeronim De Rada's activity but also the entire Arbëresh community in Italy, towards Albanian literature and culture in the past.
