US Deputy Ambassador to Tirana Visit to the University of Elbasan

Henry V. Jardine, the US Deputy Ambassador to Tirana, was present at a year at the University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani", in the framework of meetings he had in the city with volunteers of the Peace Corps. He was originally received by the Rector of the University, Prof.Dr. Liman Varoshi, who, after welcoming the American diplomat, presented him with an overview of the University of Elbasan, one of the most important higher education institutions in Albania. Also during this meeting, Rector Liman Varoshi, emphasized the cooperation of the University, with volunteers of the Peace Corps in Albania, some of which were part of the teaching staff of this institution during their period of stay in our country. Deputy Ambassador Henry V. Jardine, for his part, thanked for the hospitality, as well as for the support that the University of Elbasan gives to the Volunteers of the Peace Corps, who have been present in the city for years.

Then vice. Ambassador Jardine accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences Prof.Dr. Roland Gjini and Head of the Department of English and German Dr. Laureta Vavla, held a meeting with lecturers and students of the English language branch at the University. Addressing the students, he has given them an overview of the services offered by the US Embassy in Tirana, emphasizing above all the cooperation programs in the field of education that this embassy offers, creating links with important education institutions in the US.
