Faculty History
This faculty is the unit with the longest tradition in this institution. Since the opening of the Higher Pedagogical Institute in 1971, the Department of Language and Literature was part of the Higher Education Unit. This faculty contains social influence programs and is a factor in the labor market and in the culture not only of the city but beyond. In 1971 at the ILP "A. Xuvani" began studies in two branches: Language and Language and Mathematics-Physics. In the first year of the Language and Literature branch there were only one group of no more than 25 students.

The faculty today currently has the Faculty of Humanities in its composition the Departments of Linguistics, Literature and Journalism, History - Geography, Foreign Languages and the Center for Albanological and Balkan Studies "Alex Buda".
