At the University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani", a ceremony was held with the title "Honorary Citizen" publicist Fatos Baxhaku

The University of Elbasan "Aleksandar Xhuvani" welcomed the proposal of the Elbasan Municipality and the Union of Journalists of Albania to hold the ceremony of granting the title "Honorary Citizen of Elbasan", renowned journalist and publicist Fatos Baxhaku.

In the event on this occasion were the Rector of the University, prof. dr. Skender Topi, Mayor of Elbasan Mr. Gledian Latja, Mayor of the City Council, Mr. Hector Couple, Chairman of the Union of Journalists of Albania, Alexander Cipa, family, students, lecturers, journalists, friends and lovers of the journalist.

In his speech the Rector of the University of Elbasan, prof. dr. Skender Topi said, among other things, that “we are together, to remember and appreciate a well -known name of the media world, with a remarkable contribution to the university environment. This symbol of the Albanian media symbol has also remained in the memory of our academic staff, for the values ​​it had and followed as a lecturer for several years at our university, but also for the masterfully implemented documentaries throughout Albania and for the books written for Albania unknown ”.

The President of the Union of Journalists of Albania, Alexander Cipa, described the journalist Baxhaku as "an excellent member of the Albanian journalists' community". According to him, he attached not only the word but also to its universe. Chip described it as "Idro Montanelin of the Balkans".

The Mayor of the City Council, Hector Couple, stated that “Elbasan City Council, with full unanimity, gave the title of“ Honorary Citizen ”Mr. Fatos Baxhaku with the motivation "For the contribution made in the field of journalism, as a model of the noble man and a dedicated journalist in all genres of journalism".

The title was handed over to the family members by the Mayor of Elbasan who stated in his speech that “Fatos Baxhaku was worth it for Elbasan and that this city knows how to honor its sons. His name will be engraved on the walls of the castle of Elbasan ”.

The family of journalist Baxhaku and participant in the meeting also greeted the ceremony.
