The University of Elbasan “Alexander Xhuvani” held the graduation ceremony for the academic year 2018-2019

The University of Elbasan “Alexander Xhuvani”, held the student graduation ceremony for the 2018-2019 academic year.

The greeting speech was delivered by the Rector prof. dr. Skender Topi.

Impressed by the massive participation of students, parents, academic staff, local authorities and lovers of this university, he thanked the participants for their consideration and appreciation for this institution of higher education in Albania.

In his speech, Rector Topi made a description of what he described as "excellent journey" aiming and realizing the boundless support for students and staff.

Prof. dr. Skender Topi identified the design and implementation of the Student -centered Development Strategy in each faculty; Establishing structures such as the Student Council, career counseling, unifying university curricula with European ones.

Another important element in his speech was the accreditation of the University of Elbasan, the specializations of students and academic staff at the world's best universities, cooperation agreements and internationalization of the University of Elbasan, approaching study programs with labor markets and employment of newly graduated students etc.

Rector prof. Dr. Skender Topi has closed the word with John Dju's famous expression: “Education is not a preparation for life; Education is life itself. "

Deputy Rector prof. neither. dr. Peci Naqellari said in his speech that "today we are a university in the service of the community, which puts knowledge and science in the function of integration and development of the country."

He further highlighted that, through a wide range of study programs (about 100 programs), the academic staff of the University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani" is committed to preparing students to be reflective through lifelong learning.

“It will not be the last time we talk and communicate together. At the EU where you were formed you will find always collaborators, counselors, teachers, colleagues sometimes even opposites. We always welcome you to contribute together with your new realizations and experiences in the highest formation of generations that come after you as well as in the future developments of the country ”, concluded Deputy Rector prof. neither. dr. Peci Naqellari

Rectors and deans of various universities in the country were also invited.

The ceremony was greeted by the Mayor of Elbasan, Mr. Gledian Latja, who said that the University of Elbasan is a valuable asset to the city by turning it into the capital of education.

The chairman of the District Council, Bukurosh Stafa, underlined the cooperation locally, describing it as very successful.

Elbasan MP, Ms. Evis Kushi said that at the ceremony he experienced a dual emotion, that of the MP, but above all as a member of the academic staff of this university.

The ceremony continued with the greeting of the deans. The Faculty of Natural Sciences welcomed prof. dr. Sotir Mali. Prof. neither. Majlinda Peza. For the Faculty of Education Sciences greeted prof. neither. dr. Valentina Haxhiymeri. Prof. neither. dr. Imelda Sejdini. For the Faculty of Technical Medical Sciences, greeted prof. neither. dr. Shine Hydri.

Then the deans read the names of the excellent students who received the certificates with the motivation "For high academic achievements" .

In the end, this magnificent ceremony ended with the ritual of graduate students, throwing hats.
