As part of the 110th anniversary of the establishment of the Normal School, the Municipality of Elbasan in cooperation with the University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani" and the Digital Archive organized a Jubilee symposium entitled "Beyond Myth".

Normalist, scholars, lecturers, MPs, local authorities, education personalities in Albania, Kosovo, Northern Macedonia, etc. participated in the symposium.

In his greeting speech the Rector of the University of Elbasan, "Alexander Xhuvani", prof. dr. Skender Topi said, among other things, that "when we talk about Elbasan Normal, we talk about the first scientific institution of Albania and with a contemporary level teaching".

He described it as a model of citizenship, patriotism and cultural emancipation. Normal was an institution of national importance that prepared teachers who were distributed throughout the Albanian lands. "

The Elbasan Citizenship and Citizenship for Education was preserved even when the Higher Pedagogical Institute was founded in the city in 1971 and later in 1991, the University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani", which is not only a successor to normal but is an institution An internationalized elite, which has retained the tradition towards success ”, concluded prof. dr.
