Participation of the University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani", in "Erasmus+ Contact Seminar with the Western Balkans".
250 representatives of Higher Education Institutions by EU member states and Western Balkan countries gathered on October 24-25, in Tirana to discuss and establish partnerships in order to increase the quantity and quality of joint applications in Framework of Erasmus+.
Over the past five years Erasmus+ has funded projects with the Western Balkans that have included 37,000 students, researchers and staff of higher education institutions in the region and those in European program.
Erasmus+ has intensified its presence in the Western Balkans and currently the European Union is working to double the Erasmus+ budget designated for the region.
In her speech, the Minister of Education, Sport and Youth emphasized that at the core of the Erasmus+ program is the exchange of students and lecturers who necessarily lead to the opening of universities to new perspectives and information in auditoriums and scientific research laboratories.
While the EU ambassador to Albania, it described that the youth of the Western Balkans should be engaged, united and empowered, and Erasmus+ is suitable for this challenge.
