This conference was held in the context of the cultural relations of Italy-Albania cooperation as well as in the framework of the "European Year of Cultural Heritage".

The conference was attended by members of Rotary Club, personalities of history and culture from Albania, Italy and Kosovo.

Also present were the Minister of Culture Elva Margariti, the Italian Ambassador to Albania, Alberto Cutillo, the Rector of the University of Elbasan, Prof.Dr. Skender Topi, President of Rotary Clubs in Albania, Ylli Qirinxhi etc.

In his greeting speech, the Rector of the University of Elbasan, prof. dr. Skender Topi, among other things, said that "Elbasan, as a city of tradition and culture, has managed to educate and educate generations of teachers, scholars and academics over the years, who today exalt the name of this city."

He further emphasized that “The University of Elbasan represents an institution of tradition and success, having a primary task providing quality and contemporary study programs for students, creating infrastructure facilities and opportunities for their mobility abroad. These priorities have made it one of the most successful higher education institutions in the country ”.

In his speech, Ambassador Alberto Cutillo said that cooperation between Italy and Albania is important and centuries. “In Italy there are some universities that have been engaged in the field of history and culture with Albania. Also Italy's Foreign Ministry has a cooperation strategy, especially with neighboring countries, ”Cutillo said.

In her speech, the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti said that in the field of culture in recent years there has been not much attention, but now the ministry she runs is very focused. "It is important not only to discover cultural and historical heritage, but also preservation, maintenance and access to visitors and tourists," she said.
