University of Elbasan, hearing with the Albanian Parliament in the framework of some constitutional changes

The University of Elbasan “Alexander Xhuvani”, in cooperation with the Albanian Parliament, organized a hearing within the legal initiative “On some additions and amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Albania”.

This meeting was held after the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the 23 universities nationwide and the Albanian Parliament in the context of strengthening parliamentarism and increasing the contribution of academics to the legislative process.

In his speech on this occasion, the Rector of the University of Elbasan, Prof.Dr. Skender Topi, said, among other things, that:

“The institutionalization of this cooperation is important for three main reasons:

First, the academics of the University of Elbasan are engaged in the quality of various experts regarding technical-academic assistance, legal opposition or drafting the draft laws in the Assembly.

Second, the academic staff enables access to the research of the Library of the Assembly.

Third, there are real support opportunities for students regarding the development of practices, graduation topics and doctoral studies ”.
