Meeting of Suny Fredonia New York University Delegation at "Alexander Xhuvani" University in Elbasan

The University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani" has welcomed the Suny Fredonia University of New York for a week. The delegation was chaired by the Rector Prof. Virginia Horvath accompanied by Director of Outdoor Relations Naomi Balwind, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science Joseph A Karefa as well as the head of the Department of Problems in Communication and Science Kim l tillery.

The delegation was welcomed by the Rector of the University of Elbasan “Alexander Xhuvani”, Prof. Dr. Skender Topi, who emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two universities which have many similarities between them. The University of Fredonia, as well as the University of Elbasan, were developed under the foundations of normal schools.

Rector of Fredonia University, Prof. Horvath thanked for the hospitality and congratulated the leading structures of the host university for the extraordinary work done during this time and expressed readiness to cooperate. During the meeting with the deans of the faculties of the University of Elbasan, concrete proposals for exchanges of academic staff and students were unveiled in the relevant universities including all areas of study.

The University of Fredonia delegation recognized the mobility that the University of Elbasan offers. They stopped at a special meeting at the Faculty of Technical Medical Sciences, where they were presented with the center of telemedicine, as the largest telemedicine center in the Balkans. This center offers students to follow the practices and evolutions of medicine, in hospital university centers throughout Europe and beyond.

This meeting between the two universities is a continuation of the previous meeting in Fredonia, by a representative delegation of the University of Elbasan. Friendly and academic reports are now turning into concrete projects, in real opportunities where students and academic staff of universities are beneficiaries.
