The next success at the University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani" is marked

At the invitation of Professor Luigi Dei, Rector of the University of Florence Italy, Rector of the University of Elbasan Dr. Skender Topi held a meeting at the renowned Italian University. After discussing during this meeting on the possibilities of establishing a continuous relationship, the two rectors also signed the cooperation agreement between the two institutions, which will pave the way for a sustainable interaction in the future, in the interest of academic staff and students of both universities.

Rector Dei emphasized that 900 Albanian students currently study at the University of Florence, being an added value in university and city. Meanwhile, Rector Skender Topi, for his part, has expressed the utmost commitment on behalf of the University of Elbasan to find areas and opportunities of cooperation between the two universities. For this reason the rectors have exchanged invitations to joint scientific, academic and student organizations.

During the meeting, details of the cooperation it has already started were discussed. Currently the University of Florence runs the European Union -funded SK project to increase the capacity of social workers in Albania as well. This project is also a partner of the University of Elbasan, represented by the Department of Social Sciences, at the Faculty of Education Sciences.
