University of Elbasan signed cooperation agreements with New York State Fredonia State University

Elbasan's "Alexander Xhuvani" University and New York State University in Fredonia, USA, will now be able to cooperate in various areas of common interest. The agreement for this purpose was signed during a visit to the US by the Rector of Prof. Dr. Skender Topi and President of Suny Fredonia, Dr. Virginia Horvath. During the visit to the university, Rector Skender Topi and the delegation that accompanied him met with the American University's management board, faculty deans and members of his academic staff. During these meetings, the concrete opportunities of cooperation were discussed, mainly in terms of exchange of staff and students of both universities, joint research projects and training in various fields.

The ceremony of signing the agreement has been very special, as it was accompanied by the placement of the Albanian flag at the University Library. Rector Prof. Dr. Skender Topi and other members of the University of Elbasan staff visited the various premises of Suny Fredonia, and were introduced to study programs and research projects in which this university is engaged. This visit comes after a very positive experience that one of Suny Fredonia's staff members, Dr. Iclal Vanwesenbeck experienced over a 4 -month period, at the University of Elbasan, in the framework of Fulbright programs offered by the US Embassy in Tirana.

The signed agreement institutionalizes cooperation between the two universities, making the University of Elbasan already have another partner in the US after that of Northern Illinois University in Chicago.
