Ambassador Helmut Hoffman meets Rector Liman Varoshi

The Ambassador of the Republic of Germany to Albania, Helmut Hoffman, paid a visit to the "Alexander Xhuvani" University of Elbasan. Initially the ambassador was received by the Rector of this University Prof.Dr. Liman Varoshi. The Rector has presented to Ambassador Hoffman a picture of the developments and achievements of the University of Elbasan, stressing that this institution is one of the most important of the entire Albanian Higher Education area. He has also emphasized the great heritage of the university, as a continuation of the Elbasan Normal, the first school to bring from its banks, teachers for all areas where Albanians live and live.

Focusing on the current situation of Higher Education Development Rector Liman Varoshi has said that the University of Elbasan has emphasized the continued increase in the quality of teaching and research, such as premise and guarantee for further development and increased role of the University in Albania and beyond. He, meanwhile, urged Ambassador Helmut Hoffman his personal commitment to helping study programs related to German. The Rector emphasized that the institution he runs sees German, as a great opportunity for young Albanians to integrate into the labor market.

This idea is also supported by the German Ambassador to Albania Helmut Hoffman. He has stated and suggested that the University of Elbasan orient the study programs towards intertwined branches. The ambassador emphasized that "if we have information or information technology workers who own German language, then their employment opportunities would be too high in Germany, without excluding other study cycles." Helmut Hoffman promised his personal support and the embassy he leads in this context.

After meeting with the Rector of the University, Ambassador Helmut Hoffman held a meeting with German language lecturers at the University of Elbasan, where he expressed support for their work and promised more frequent contact in the future.
