It is organized at the University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani", Memorial Symposium "On the 100th Anniversary of Vasil Kamami's birth"

In his greeting speech, the Rector, Prof.Dr. Skender Topi, emphasized that at the University of Elbasan, the figure of the teacher is elevated more and more. And this is not just because of tradition, but it is a consequence of the very high love and consideration of the Elbasanas for education. This city has welcomed the opening of the normal school. He then developed the importance of preparing teachers from the Higher Pedagogical Institute to its development as a university.

Minister of Education, Sport and Youth, Ms. Evis Kushi, underlined that figures like Vasil Kamami are never fading and serving patterns of inspiration for our teachers and leaders of our schools, for preparation, dedication, responsibility and care as a second parent for their students.

It is our duty to advance their noble mission of generational education as well as the advancement of teaching programs, in order to continuously elevate the honorable figure of the teacher, because it prepares not only the professionals capable of the future but also the citizens good and worthy of the nation.

In his statement, vice. Rector, Prof.As.Dr. Peci Naqellari, in the capacity of a friend and the EU academic staff, feels appreciated and proud of the continuity of a rich heritage and experience in higher education, left by Vasil Kamami.

This activity is not only an obligation we have towards our older leaders and colleagues, but also as a need for us and those who will come after us, to recognize and preserve the memories of the past, the efforts, the sacrifices, its achievements and disappointments.

Doctor of Science, Meritorious Teacher Vasil Kamami from 1971 to 1984, devoted his job to the first director of the Higher Pedagogical Institute, the first Higher Education Institution in Elbasan, which in 1976 is named ILP “Alexander Xhuvani ”, having a teaching and leadership experience in the field of education.

The creation, opening and functioning of ILP was realized over a tradition, ground and an educational atmosphere.

It is no coincidence that the first teaching body to establish the Higher Pedagogical Institute "Alexander Xhuvani" in 1971 (today the University of Elbasan "Alexander Xhuvani") consisted of former students and teachers of Normale (Vasil Kamami, Tomor Arianiti, Roland Popa, Agim Kurt, Mirjam Mufti, Bardhyl Graceni, Xhemal Lufta, Hysen Shabanaj etc.).

Initially the ILP performed its teaching activity in four branches of teaching: Language-Literature, Mathematics-Physics, History-Geography, Biology-Tim, in the system with and without detachment, with three-year duration; In the branches of construction engineering, mechanical engineering, accounting economy, economy plan, as a subsidiaries of UT. This institution carried out activities in its subsidiaries set up in the cities of Korça, Fier and Berat. In 1981 the teacher preparation branch for the first four grades of elementary school, with a duration of 3 years, opened. The ILP studies in 1982 extended from three to four years.

Director Vasil Kamami and the head of the formative subjects for the teaching sciences, has constantly oriented the well-being and reform of ILP years.

It has made its contribution to the progress, well -being and reform of education in general and the formation of teachers in particular, as one of the best specialists and leaders of the country. It has contributed to the quality improvement of subject programs, lectures, laboratories, etc.

Dr. Arben Kamami, expressed very high emotions and consideration for organized activity.

For me and my family today is a special day, remember the 100th anniversary of our father's birth and awarding a certificate of gratitude awarded by the University of Elbasan.

In his speech, he thanked the Rector of the University of Elbasan on behalf of the whole family and on his personal name and the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Evis Kushi.

A heartfelt thanks went to his friends and students, in particular Mehmet Uruci and Tomorr Arianiti for the organization of the paper in honor of his father, Prof. Peci Naqellari, teacher Xhemal Lufta and Marie Bezhani.

Colleagues and former students remembered with particular emotion the years when Vasil Kamami worked as a teacher and director of Normale for 26 years, initiator and first head of the Higher Pedagogical Institute from 1971 until he retired.

The event was concluded with the allocation by the University of Elbasan of the Certificate of Acknowledgment with the motivation "For valuable contribution to the development of education and generation education".
