Bulgaria's National Holiday in Elbasan
The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Bulgaria in Albania, in cooperation with the "Alexander Xhuvani" University in Elbasan, held a remembrance ceremony on the occasion of the Bulgarian national holiday. Also present at this activity was the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Tirana Mr. Dimitar Arnaudov.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Rector of the University of Elbasan Prof. Dr. Liman Varoshi, after thanking the attendees, has made an overview of the historical events that brought Bulgaria's independence from the Ottoman occupation. Rector Varoshi has praised the Bulgarian Renaissance period, as the most important that led to the outline of the country's idea of independence. In this context, as he pointed out, mentioning the most prominent figures of that period, Bulgaria managed to move forward towards independence and to create a society with important socio-economic developments and to the union of all state-forming actors and factors. Rector Varoshi also emphasized the similarities between the history and the path of the Ballan Pupping which, according to him, must unite in front of European integration, in some cases even an element of nationalization they seek to share.
For his part, the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Albania Dimitar Arnaudov, thanking the participants and Rector Liman Varoshi, for the exact mirror and deep knowledge of the history of the Bulgarian people, has emphasized cooperation between the two countries and peoples. He stated that the Gollobordas community, which are in considerable numbers in Elbasan and Albania, is a bridge of important cooperation in this law. Ambassador Arnaudov has also stated that Bulgaria strongly supports Albania's integration processes in the European Union and has been and will be ready to provide its experience in this regard.
